Never did I think I would wear a leather skirt. My mamma did warn me, never say never.

A few seasons back ZARA brought out a faux leather high-waisted skirt, I oogled at it every time I went ZARA however I refrained. But I just could not stop thinking about it, does that happen to anyone else? Days went on by and when I finally thought I would make it mine, the damn thing was out stock. Typical. Luckily I tumbled across an Oasis dupe on sale. I mention it in my haul here. I liked it even more then the Zara one too. Result.  I love the little cut out detailing at the front, making it slightly edgy. Leather can go terribly wrong or really right. This to me is the perfect leather skirt. Not too short, too shiny, too fitted. Sophisticated enough to wear to work but dressy enough for a night out.

During my evening rituals of sorting out what to wear the next morning. *yes I’m that kind of person, let’s consider the fact that at I’m up at 6ish and my brain does not function before 7.30am.* I’ve taken this skirt out 6 times in the last couple of months and changed my mind in the morning. I thought it might be a little riskay for a day job. Yesterday I finally built the confidence to wear it.

I was contemplating on what to pair it with and because it was work I chose a pink/rose metallic raw silk textured top from TOPSHOP. Loving the shape of these tops. I find that they flatter my body-shape. If it was the weekend, I’d wear an oversized white t-shirt tucked it but slightly hanging out. Another OOTD with the T-shirt perhaps?

I haven’t taken a photo of the shoes, but I’ll let you guess what pair I wore. *hint hint – the slip on’s I always wear*

To me this is a really casual yet classy way of wearing faux leather. How would you wear a faux leather skirt?
