In the last few weeks I’ve been making a real conscious effort to look drug store makeup bits to try and steer away from NARS and MAC. I think I’m slowly becoming obsessed with some of the more affordable beauty bits, be prepared to see more posts on my visits to Boots.

Apart from the Gel Eyeliner I don’t think I have had a loyal relationship with Maybelline. There hasn’t been anything that really stood out to me, so when browsing I saw the “3 for 2” sign, always tempting. And thought why not.  First thing I picked up was the Eraser eye concealer – claims to be Anti-ageing too, not that I care for it to be anti-ageing. I am very much looking forward to growing old gracefully.

The sponge roller ball squeeze contraption is a little unusual – slightly awkward to apply – I’m always unsure of how much I should twist the pen to get the product out. However it does come out sparingly so I never get an overdose of product. This is probably THE best concealer in terms on consistency and colour. It’s a heavy coverage without feeling cakey and can be layered to give a high-lighted affect.

Then another concealer (can never have too many) Fit me, where the packaging is oh so similar to Nars creamy concealer, unfortunately the consistency is way off. I found this super sheer for my dark circles and it didn’t really fit me. The colour is closer to my foundation shade as opposed to a concealer colour and the shade lighter than this was way too light. Maybe I’ll use it as a touch up product under the eyes as it doesn’t require a lot of blending? Has anyone else used the fit me concealer? Thoughts?

Finally a gloss! I’ve already revealed in my Lipstick addict tag video that I’m not the biggest fan of lip glosses. Maybe it’s something to do with the memories of me being younger and wearing the £2 Boots lip glosses, getting sticky goo on my face/hair/fingers, basically everywhere. I thought I’d try the Colour Sensational high gloss in the colour Glorious Grapefruit. A pretty peachy pink shade. It smells like sweet oranges and isn’t sticky. The colour is a ‘barely there’ pink tone. Which I quite like. I’m easing myself into the world of glosses. Baby steps. I like it but don’t love it. Maybe a few more wears will convert me.

Two loves, one not so much. What other drugstore products must I try? I’m on a roll…

Great post, I love more affordable makeup, I have eraser eye but I think it is rather fiddly.

Check out my blog, I have a giveaway at the moment of soap and glory goodies and free and easy to enter:

It was fiddly at first, but the colour match forgives the fiddlyness..xx

I personally think it’s a good high street concealer. I struggle to find good colour matches for me.. :) thank you xx
