I’ve spoken about my love for nail polishes before, however it’s very rare that I love a colour so much that I go and re-purchase it. I usually finish a colour and find another – there are just SO many amazing shades out there…

Behold this little number by Essie which goes by the name of; Lovie Dovie. Essie formula is amazing; they’re super long lasting, extremely pigmented. I love the brush as it is quite thick so applies an even layer on the entire nail. I usually use two coats just for an opaque finish but you could very easily get away with just one coat. For £7.99 the price point is rather reasonable, as OPI nail polishes are about £10 and Nails Inc. can average around £12 and the quality of Essie is far better in my opinion.

Essie Lovie Dovie is a bubble-gum Barbie pink. I’ve tried so many different pinks and some have been too bright, too pale, too purple or too blue, this just hit the nail on the head. It’s a perfect pink. The first time I wore this colour I had at least 5 people stop me to ask what colour I was wearing – at first my response was ‘oh, just a pink from Essie’ –  I then had to actually check because I  felt bad for not giving precise information. I love that it doesn’t have any glitter/sparkle in it. Which in my opinion make’s it okay to wear it if you’re slightly older. Even now, I’ve just stopped to stare my nails – a gorgeous colour!

It’s been about 7months since I’ve had Lovie Dovie - I always come back to this colour. As you can see from the photo that the nail polish bottle has seen better days.

When I used to get acrylic nails done (don’t do them, they damage your nails!) I used to take it to the nail salon with me as they never had the pink I wanted, even the manicurist said she loves the colour!

Being a 20 something year old – I sometimes feel self-conscious of wearing a Barbie pink nail colour – I always think, ‘I’m no longer in my teens – let go of the pink’. (Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels like this?) But I just can’t seem to do it. I think me and Essie’s Lovie Dovie have bonded over the past few months. I am sad that this bottle has almost finished. But I’ll be going to Boots/Superdrugs to repurchase.

Have you ever repurchased a nail colour?
