Topshop / SS14

Posted & filed under Fashion Edit.

It has been getting slightly warmer, despite the last couple of days and whilst some of us are beginning to look at the latest trends, browsing through websites for new spring/summer pieces. I’m thinking to get more ‘classic’ pieces that I could wear all year round.

I went into Topshop and was on the hunt for a few pieces which are simple and versatile. Naturally jeans were the first place I went for. We very rarely get scorching hot weather in London. On a norm it’s cool enough to wear jeans. My favourite types of jeans from Topshop are the Leighs. They’re more of a stretchy ‘legging’ material. Slightly thicker material but obviously with a jeans look to them. I wear my black Leigh jeans religiously. I also have dark/acid blue which have now seen better days, so ultimately it was time to invest into another pair.

Nars – Satin LP / Palais Royal

Posted & filed under Beauty Edit.

In my latest YouTube Video – Yes I am still at it. I actually enjoy it a lot! My lip colour was the most prominent part of my makeup. I have said this so many times, but I love lip-sticks. I have far too many for my own (or anyone else’s) good.

A slight obsession with the Nars lip pencils has occurred after my love with Velvet Matte Dragon Girl.

Blusher Brushes

Posted & filed under Beauty Edit.

The dreaded Sunday evening task of washing brushes. I hate it, luckily I have a make-up obsessed sister – we don’t share the same taste in makeup unfortunately. But she is a firm believer of washing brushes at the end of every week, it prevents bacteria being passed onto the face and gives you better application if your brushes are clean.

She often offers to wash mine for me – *let’s not insert sympathy for her – she exchanges brush washes to borrow my clothes*

Charles Worthington – Intense Rescue Balm

Posted & filed under Beauty Edit.

We all want smooth, hydrated hair right? I speak for all of us that are on a hunt to find the perfect product which will give us luscious locks. Especially if you have coloured /dry hair it can be quite coarse and super difficult to manage. *cough cough hint hint* When Boots was on 3 for 2 I literally spent all my spent my savings (lets me honest, I didn’t have that many savings to start off with) buying stuff I thought I needed wanted. One product in particular was the Charles Worthington Moisture seal intense rescue melting balmwhoa what a title. It basically promises to seal/mend split ends. Let me just stop you right here to tell you that split ends cannot – I repeat, cannot – be healed. It’s not a scar which can resurface and grow – once your hair has been split, it needs to be cut. Simples.

Dior / Porcelaine :: 204

Posted & filed under Beauty Edit.

Pastels galore. I’ve never really given up on the pastel trend since 2010. Now I love me Essies and my Barry M’s and I adore my blue polishes even more – you can see my declaration for them here. I am heavily against paying a ridiculous amount of a nail polish. When I was browsing the counter of Dior for their summer limited edition lipstick in the colour …and they were out of stock. Which made me want it more? Does that happen to anyone else?

Orange lip are the trend this summer – they were around last year but if I remember correctly. It is a lot bolder and a real strong orange lip this year. So I’ve looked through my make-up stash and picked out the top orange must haves.

Una Brennan – Cleansing Oil

Posted & filed under Skincare Edit.

Cleansing balms were ‘the’ thing last year – but how do we feel about cleansing oil? I don’t normally buy on a whim skincare products. I usually go through and endless amount of blogs/reviews and then after much deliberation I come to a decision. When it comes to skincare I am super cautious as I have sensitive skin and once flared up it can be completely horrendous to handle.

Battle of the palettes

Posted & filed under Beauty Edit.

We’re 3 and a half months into a year and there have been some absolutely fantastic releases for spring/summer. I tend to go through phases where I love eye shadows and sometimes I don’t. Not being a MUA I always browse through YouTube free to find the most dummy friendly smoky eye tutorial.
